Reconstruction of the drama theater, 2019
Location: Baku, Azerbaijan
Status: Concept
The theater building’s renovation preserved the historic facades and emphasized the high attic, adding a contemporary cubic dome with ornaments inspired by national textiles. The theater hall has been completely renovated and adapted for contemporary theatrical performances. The foyer is enlivened by a complex golden wall, symbolizing a theater curtain and creating a boundary between everyday life and the world of art.
