Concept. The ancient city of Shamakha, located in the foothills of the Caucasus, was once a stop along the Great Silk Road. Today, it preserves traditions and monuments of medieval architecture. Its historical heritage makes the city and its surroundings an ideal destination for tourism development, and as part of this initiative, the restaurant complex project was created.
Our architects aimed to combine recognizable local features with attractiveness. The tower, a characteristic element of historical structures on the Absheron Peninsula, in this case, is designed with a reinforced concrete frame and glass infill. According to the concept, the restaurant halls are situated on two levels of the tower, while a spacious oval hall at its base is envisioned as a banquet venue for the grand feasts so beloved in the Caucasus.
The tower’s central plan allows its upper level to function as a rotating platform. The architects propose complementing the tower’s structure with a metal framework that will serve as the foundation for an expressive lighting design.
